Supplementary Welding Symbols - Symbols marking weld all round, site weld, weld contours, etc.

Dimensions in Welds
If nothing is specified, it implies that all welds shall be continuous along the length of the joint. In case of intermittent welding, when the joint commences with a weld, dimensions shall be marked as follows:
(i) The length of each weld shall be indicated on the right hand side of the symbol and

(ii) The unwelded length of joint between each weld shall be indicated in brackets following the length dimension.
If the joint commences with an unwelded length, this length shall be indicated in brackets between the symbol and the dimension representing the length of the weld.
