Soldering - Soldering, brazing and braze welding are those metal joining techniques which make use of
(i) Heat, and
(ii) A filler metal whose melting point is lower than the melting point of the metals or alloys being joined.
In soldering, the melting point of the filler metal is less than 427°C. In brazing and braze welding the melting point of the filler metal is above 427°C but below the melting point of the base metals.
