Safety
Recommendations
for
Manifolding
of
Gas
Cylinders -
Sometimes
cylinders
are
manifolded
to
centralise
the
gas
supply,
to
obtain
a
continuous
supply
of
gas
and
to
provide
gas
at
a
rate
in
excess
of
that
which
maybe
obtained
from
a
single
cylinder.
Such
manifolds
should
be
of
substantial
construction
and
of
a
design
and
materials
suitable
for
the
particular
gas
and
service
for
which
they
are
to
be
used.
In
case
of
acetylene
cylinder
manifolding:
(i)
Gas
pressure
in
all
the
cylinders
should
be
approximately
equal.
(ii)
The
place
of
manifolding
should
be
adequately
ventilated.
(iii)
Cylinders
shall
be
manifolded
in
the
vertical
position.
(iv)Each
cylinder
lead
should
be
provided
with
a
back
flow
check
valve
if
more
than
three
cylinders
are
coupled
together
