Factors Affecting Welding Cost in Arc Welding

Factors Affecting Welding Cost in Arc Welding -
(a) In Arc Welding
(i) Time required for cleaning the plates of dust, grease, rust, oxide or any other foreign matter.
(ii) Time taken for tack welding or holding the job in fixtures.
(iii) Cost of base plate.
(iv) Cost of welding electrodes.
(v) Labour charges.

(vi) Direct expenses such as cost of hiring special machinery or cost of defective work if trials are necessary on the base plate to optimize welding parameters, etc.

(vii) Indirect expenses (overheads).
(viii) Cost of power consumed.
(ix) Welding time.
(x) Efficiency of welding machine.
(xi) Fatigue and personal allowances for the welder.
